Eric J. Klos

CEO and Founder, HEALTHeWeather Strategic Advisor

Eric Klos, CEO and Founder of HEALTHeWeather, is a seasoned executive with broad health IT expertise and relevant entrepreneurial skills. Eric owns his own Federal Health IT consulting firm, HealthTechture, providing strategic planning, marketing development, and competitive intelligence to Federal Health IT firms. He successfully co-founded G2Xchange Health, a membership-based online competitive intelligence firm for Federal Health IT executives.

The concept of HEALTHeWeather was originally inspired by a past conversation with his sister, Wendy, who has rheumatoid arthritis, in which she exclaimed while suffering from RA symptoms one morning, “Eric, you should develop a mobile app that would tell me when the weather is changing and will cause flare-up of my RA.”
Inspired by this interchange and recognizing that environmental factors have been long neglected by the medical community when it comes to personalized health, he founded HEALTHeWeather. Because the causal effect of the weather and the environment on asthma was most readily apparent, as was the significant burden on patients and the healthcare system, his 1st solution, DailyBreath, targets asthma sufferers.

He has quickly become a thought leader in understanding the impact of weather and environmental exposures on respiratory patients. His vision to bring personalized weather insights for healthier breathing to help asthma sufferers become weather informed, location aware, and health prepared is aimed at transforming the distributed public health model for tracking exposures generally into a personalized asthma warning system based on each patient’s individual susceptibility to exposures.
